Towing Question From A Newbie

First off I'm new here so I just want to start by saying you guys have a great forum here.

I'm looking into picking up a 2005 Durango SLT with the 4.7L engine that is not set up with the towing package. My question is will this vehicle have any problems towing a 2,000 pound 6X16 enclosed tandem-axle trailer with a load of approximately 2,000 pounds? Any info you all can give me will be greatly appreciated.

If it's a auto tranny, leave the OD turned off unless on a long flat stretch of open road.
