Time to fully come on with HID's

I have had HID's in my Dak for quite a few months now, and the one problem with them that has always kind of irritated me is the turn on time. Like how it takes 10 seconds or so for them to come on to full brightness. Is this something that your digital kits can fix? Just wanting to find out before the next time I go buying HID's for a car. And is there any difference in getting one of these kits, and the HID"s that they put on cars from the factory?

On my kits, it does take a few seconds to come to full brightness, 10 seconds does sound like a long time. I haven't taken too much notice but I'm guessing up to 5 seconds but a delay to come to full brightness is normal. I'm not sure what would be causing the delay in your kit so I can't say for certain if the digital kit would work well for you. The digital kit does solve many problems but I can't say for certain it would fix this one specifically because I do not know the cause.

As for the difference between these and factory lights, I would say the big difference is beam pattern. If they're coming from the factory, they are using projectors that has the correct beam pattern. Just installing a kit into a headlight not designed for it will give you a different beam pattern but the brightness/color should be about the same, you just have to know what Kelvin you want to order.

You guys DO know that hid's work by chemical reaction....right..?! It takes time to get to full brightness because they need to warm up to operating temperatures.

whats wrong with 5 or 10 seconds? how about turn them on before turning the truck on. then theyll be ready togo.

i turn my lights on before i start my truck...by the time i get to the end of my drieway ( about 30 yards long) they are as bright as can be

Yeah I've always loved them. I want to put them in my car now. I was just mainly asking if the digital kits make them come on faster or not. I just would get irritated at after driving around for a while with either the high's or low's on for a while, then had to suddenly switch beams, it would take a bit for them to come on and I would be in the dark for a lil while lol
