Ok....well over on another forum....www.DAKOTAUSA.com they have a new hood concept they are trying to get into production but we need YOUR help. The new hood will resemble the SRT-10 hood off the Ram. YES it WILL BE functional. Its basically going to be a cross between the Refelxxion cowl and the SRT-10 scoop. Anyone interested send all emails with your name and email address to TUMADRE@AOL.COM
P.S- TELL HIM I SENT YOU!!!! Thanks!!

C'mon, no one is interested in this hood???? This is gonna be one of the best hoods out there, but its only a dream unless we get some emails sent to Tumadre@aol.com . No clue on the price yet, and the longer we wait to send the emails to him, the longer it will be before we get the hoods in production....

send any pics you can get to abloom@optonline.net
I'd be interested in the hood but I gotta see some pics first...a note for the maker of the hood though...don't make the scoop or the cowl too subtle I want an eye catcher

That is only a photoshopped pic. Now we have 4 or 5 companies that are interested in this hood.

If they could figure out how to make it functional ram air for the 4.7L's that would be cool. Thats the biggest hold back from me buying a hood... nobody has bothered to make a shaker or ram air style functional for the 4.7L's. Right now I am looking at either the Reflexxion cowl induction or the carbon fibre hood that somebody had come up with just a little while back. Granted neither are functional but they still look slick and cool as hell.

I have the reflexxions cowl hood. I'm not sure what u mena by not being functional, but mine sure does extract alot of heat. After a couple of runs and i park it the middle of my window gets foggy from heat. So it serves some purpose.

What I meant was "functional" for the 4.7L's. They have a totally different set up from the carbuerated motors. As far as I know there is no way to hook the 4.7L's up properly to take full advantage of the hood.
Most cowl induction hoods when they shut they shut flush to the piece that goes around the air cleaner if you have a round filter on top of the carb and not the CAI running up to the front of the truck. If you have the CAI running forwards, all the cowl is going to do is allow heat to escape out the back of the hood and not draw cold air directly into the carburetor from the hood.

I really like that style and would really consider buying one for my Durango, my real preference though would be that it would be made of STEEL like the stock hood instead of fiberglass, I wonder if there would be any companies out there that would do this in steel ???

why would you want steel?

Im my opinion it would be better. Stronger, would not have to worry about it cracking, or what hood springs, etc. to use, etc. Probably easier to finish too.

It's supposed to just use your factory springs/hinged, and I seriously doubt there would be any cracking.... I have never had ANYTHING that was fiberglass crack, on anything.. unless I ran into the back of a huge ass jeep... which I did... but that's beside the point... lol.
One plus to fiberglass... no damn dents, and fiberglass isn't any harder than steel to paint. And it will probably weigh a little less. I don't really see fiberglass being some kind of compromise

actually, if i remember reading right on the dakotausa board......this hood is supposed to come with struts to replace the springs.
Milan

they said eventually you can get the struts as an option but until then those that get the hood right away are stuck with the stock hood springs

If it came with Struts and replace the stock springs, etc. I would really consider this hood as this is the style I am looking for. Do you have a link to the Dakotausa board of where they are talking about this hood ??? Thanks for any info.
