Is this the one that will fold up in sections so that you can carry bigger things in the bed? It definitely has it's advantages if you haul stuff. I can't put anything in my bed, with my one piece cover, that is much above the height of the bed. So I would either have to have a utility trailer or just use my Durango for hauling. I don't know, I just like the looks of the one piece hard covers.

If you're looking for you stuff to be safe, a soft top is not the way to go. A good sharpe pocket knife and a theif will be in there. Personally I like the hard top better for saftety reasons and I think they just look better, IMO.

if your going to spend that kind of money, from what i saw over $500. then go with a pace edwards. the jackrabbit is a hard cover thats i retracting to the bed and can be pulled back and lock in i think 1 foot sections, so you can uncover the whole bed, or only 2 feet and leave the rest covered. plus it's lockable. http://www.pace-edwards.com/jackrabbit.asp

Well see i really just want a hard top tonneau cover and i really dont want to spend alot like some of the fiberglass ones. I like the fiberglass ones but i dont want to spend $1000 for one. I saw this one for like $500.
How much is the Jackrabbit one? I didnt see a price.

they aren't that cheap, but they are one of the most versitle covers out there.

it wouldnt be so bad if you have to buy the cover and the rails as a "combo" item.

I have one and I love it!!!:mullet:
Pros:
It's light, (aprox 45lbs) flush, convenient and lockable with a tailgate lock ($20 ebay) and about 30 min install, no drilling on truck
Cons:
Could be sturdier I wouldn't stand on it.
Got lucky found mine on ebay $250 shipped nobody fought me for it. Some of the weather stripping will need to be replaced every couple years, I open mine alot, otherwise I've been very happy with it. As for water getting in I can wash the truck and very little might get in sometimes.

this is the best pic i have of it right now, i'll try and get better ones when it stops raining.
i installed it myself, the rails are held on by double sided tape. the hardest part was just trying to get it lined up right.
Edit: Can't remember where i got it, either truckaddons.com or trucktoys.com

My son has one just like that on his Chevy Colorado. Just being able to open only the rear section like a trunk lid is a real plus. The most forward lid opens to the rear as a single unit. Both lids have their own lock. The three rear sections fold into a stack on top of the front lid. No gas struts to wear out. My only minor complaint is on a sunny 90 degree day, its too hot to touch; but hey...:D

the front side opened.

the back side opened.

and it fully opened, it has straps so you can drive with it opened like this.
hope this helps some in the search.

Both folding parts do lock, and as far as price it was over 2 years ago that i got them, so it might have gone up since then.
