I use CAD everyday but I do architecturals. I guess you can call me a wall panel & truss designer.

I want to go back to school so I can get involved with our Roll Former machines that we sell to produce your own steel truss & wall panels.

Let's see where to start?

I have been doing Cad for about 8 years now. My full time job, I work at a local cabinet shop. I do all the Cad drawings to be subbmitted to architects for approval. We also use several programs called Cabinet Vision, Cut Rite and Wood Woop. We have 3 CNC machines that cut all our parts out. The machines do everything from drilling, routing, door hinge punch. dowel set up and so on, there to much to list out. I also write all the programs for the machines to cut the parts out. One of our machines is set up to cut 3D. We use our machines to do 95% of the work the other 10% is the guys that box it up. I could cut a cabinet out, mail it you and all you have to do is put it toghter. I have been doing this for about 6 years.:blahblah:

Then I also do residental home plans at home and light commercial plans.

pretty cool stuff remoth. seems like a fun job. that stuff looks real..
rock1717 thats pretty cool too. Is there and hand drawing or is it straight computer work? Those machines are amazing. Dont have to do much man labor. Who designs the cabinets. Is that you and the others? Do you have any pictures of the cabinets? What style are they or website?

All drawings are done in Cabinet Vision and then dxf out to Auto Cad. Once in Auto Cab there cleaned up and made in to shop drawings with elevations, plan views some 3D views when needed and sections.

We use the machines to do most of our labor

I do all the design work. We get plans from the architect with a general idea of what they want and then I make it all work with the lay of the rooms.

The style of cabinets are Euro, Face Frame and Flush Inset.

I am an Architectural Designer. I design and remodel commercial buildings for a living. I would like to get into residential though. That is what I went to school for, not commercial stuff, but it is still fun either way. I use AutoCAD 2007, Architectural Desktop 2007, and Photoshop everyday. I love photoshop!!
