I'm opening up this thread for people to post pix of their final results so others can see the quality of the work and decide whether or not they want to jump in and have some parts done before the group buy wraps up.

Oh no, I'm quite addicted to the stuff. I probably would have sent in as many pieces as you did if I could have afforded it during the group buy. Building up the '03 plus all of the meets this year combined with xmas and such has me tied up until January for new mods. I also didn't get 25% discounts like you guys did, it's a worthy price to pay to be first :)
I just wanted to have an organized thread for everyone to post pix of their results.
Robyn did extend the group buy again, I was hoping to get some really nice pictures of the stuff you guys got back so I could post them along with the notices.

12-13-2004, 02:28 PM
Yeah... I would, but when you sit in a Lexus.... is THEIR steering column done with wood.... NO!
I just wanted mine to be the highest quality.... and while the pieces are definately that... quality is not just in the pieces... it's in how many pieces are done. TOO many will look cheapy.... in my opinion. Too few will also look cheapy.
Sometimes quality looks better than quantity.

I'll try to e-mail you some,.. but there's almost no use. I am guessing it's because the "film" that you speak of was maybe stretched a little because of the pieces large size. I don't really know what you could do or would do. So it's kinda pointless.
Plus,... my truck got 3300 worth of hail damage, and someone nailed my tailgate pretty hard this past weekend (no one left a note or anything). So I'm pretty bumed, and there's no use in trying to get anything done for the car show... because my trucks got some much hail damage that in order to fix it right the first time(which is how I do things) I'd have to get all new body parts.

I'd hate to have you do that. I mean... yall already had to redo that main dash piece in the beginning because of a plastic weld messed up.(obviously not yalls fault). I understand how it is running a business and haveing to REDO something, and I'd hate to put yall through it AGAIN!
If you want me to send it up... I can do that.

Yes they can do straight colors without the pattern - I just recently had my door handles and tailgate handle processed to match the black exterior, they did a great job of smoothing them out.
Measure each part; the width at the widest point, going over any curves, versus the length of the part at the longest point, going over any curves. It is recommended that you use a flexible tape measure because the pattern must flow around curves and other surfaces. Once you have those dimensions available give Robyn a call at Phoenix Imaging (www.phoenix-image.com) and send her the information. If possible take some pictures of the parts and send them to her as well.

I can take some tomorrow when it's sunny out again but black on black doesn't have quite the same visual impact as painting silver/white/etc. handles. They did an excellent job of prepping the handles though, they look nice.

I would assume that they could process whatever section you wanted, as long as it could be masked off somewhat easily.
I find that many vendors can get piled up with e-mails because they usually don't have a lot of time to just sit down and read them, it's always best to give them a call on the phone if you don't hear back within 24-48 hours.

how does the group buy work and is it still available?
anyway your cars all look great!
The best thing to do for pricing is to get ahold of Robyn directly with a list of what parts you want to have done, and if it isn't one of the parts that are shown in the featured product section of the front page then you will need to give her the dimensions of the product (photos help too).
I know Robyn and her husband were here in Las Vegas this week for SEMA and I don't know when they were heading back so it may take a day or two for a response if you send her an e-mail.

Is that the amount the previous owner paid or is that what you paid for those items used? Kinda makes a difference as that $1200 seems a little low for all those items.

For basically stickers and labor? PI looks great but I have always thought it was a bit high priced.

Stickers? :nono:
Actually I think PI's per-piece prices are pretty darn reasonable for what you get. Each piece is thoroughly sanded smooth, primered, painted a base color, the hydro-graphic pattern is applied, then the item is clear coated.
This stuff makes your parts look like they came from the factory that way, much better quality than your common dash kits.

Lots of labor expense I see. The product is a 'sticker-esque' material floated in water like the kids tatoos of old sorta. I didn't know there was a primer and a clear coat applied. Also hydro-peel or are they sprayed on?
I know they are nice in the end, and they are ultra cool... just pricey IMHO.
Now... I need to go get $500 worth! LOL
The sad part... I'm serious! Just holding out for a GB to save 15-20% if possible.

I agree with every thing you just stated. It's terribly hard to describe to others just how much time is involved in making these items look the way they do. And unless you've seen the work firsthand, like Steve mentioned it looks like it came from the factory that way. Much better than any stickers or dash applied overlays.
