I mocked up a set of SS brushed grilles, but I'm not sure what will look better on the truck - brushed (as-is), chrome (would be powdercoated chrome-like), or black (would be powdercoated midnight gloss black).
Can someone please show me some options?
PS - Before anyone comments, I already have a replacement grille shell to replace the faded/cracked model on the truck - I'm waiting to have new mirrors & spoiler on hand so everything gets painted at once, the handles will be done at the same time.

I normally would say Bright, but on yours Steve I would say the powder black looks alot better, Stealthy looking! (need a nightrider light for the scoop) NOT! LOL

I have to say, something is not right. I think I know what it is. You have to get rid of the projectors and sell them to me. Then the brush grille will fit better with your theme.

I'm a fan of breaking up the theme and having some type of accent. I would stay with the siver for a while till you get sick of it. You could always get it coated down the road.:onethumb:

Go black. Chrome inserts makes the front end look "too busy" if you know what I mean. Too many things to look at a one time.

I'd say either black, or maybe a dark grey (Just not the brushed color) Somthing that's different, but not black. I like being able to see the grill, but I think Silver sticks out too much
NO CHROME!

It wasn't on your list, but powder coated silver to match the R/T rims would be nice (unless you plan to run a different rim).

I have another set of the 20" MB Motoring Cannon wheels (same type that I had on my 03 Black CC) in my garage that will be used for road trips & car shows - just need to save up the $$ to buy new tires.
When they're ready to mount I will take my R/T wheels over to Vegas Powdercoating for processing. I'm still debating whether I will have them completely powdercoated a dark color like graphite or black, or whether I should leave the center/spokes silver and powdercoat the outer edge of the rim just like my 20's...

Danno already has a "Vader" truck... I'm tempted to get "BLACKND" as a custom plate when everything's done.

I dropped off the grilles at Vegas Powdercoating this afternoon - went with midnight black. I probably won't get around to installing them for 7-10 days, this weekend is dedicated for interior work.

I already have another set of 20" MB Motoring Cannons (same wheels I had on the black CC) sitting in the garage that will be used for road trips & car shows, I need to scrape together the $$ for tires first... Once I have those ready to go I'll take the R/T wheels over to Vegas Powdercoating and have them darkened up... I'm still up in the air whether I will have them solidly coated a dark color like graphite or black, or else I'm tempted to make them look like my MB's by leaving the spokes silver but darkening the circumference.
No silver parts left, they're long gone

I think it's been done before, but I'd have to go digging to find the photos...
Here's a ghettoshop of what I was considering...

I would do the reverse of that. Black/Gunmetal at the edge would make the R/T rim look way smaller than it is.

I was hoping to duplicate the effect the MB Motoring wheels have with the polished section of the spokes extending all the way to the lip of the wheel - that way if I only swapped out the rear wheels at the track, they would look somewhat similar. I will most likely just have the whole R/T wheel powdercoated - probably looks better & would be cheaper than masking it off.

In case someone missed the other thread in the Photos/Videos section, here's what the truck looks like with the black SS grilles installed...
In the near future I will replace the faded/cracked grille shell, and the mirrors will be replaced with cal-vu's.

personally i think it will look better with silver inserts, give the front end some contrasting colors

The current plan is to try a blacked-out look... The windows will be tinted and the wheels will be powdercoated dark graphite or black. If it doesn't work out in the end I can always trade out the grilles/wheels.
