I have a 1989 Shelby Dakota, I have been told on another board that I can use a Jet Chip from a 89 full size Dodge truck in my Shelby, anyone know if this should work?....also I am running headers and Flowmasters without a cat, will a stage 1 chip be okay? I would like to run a stage 2 but I don't want to have to run prem fuel all the time. Thoughts, Ideas?....little help here.

Had a stage 2 when I first got my truck. Didn't notice any gains at ALL.

I think I lost some horsepower to.

Took it off 2 weeks later and got rid of it. Dosen't work.. :nono:

In 1989 the Shelby was the first Dakota to have a V8, 5.2. Up until that time they had the 3.9 V6. You may be able to find something for a Ram with a 5.2? Your transmission should be the 4-speed auto with the locking torque converter this is where you may have problems finding a chip.

I put a jet chip on my 4.7L and I felt a big difference with mid and high grade gas. it was nice, but gas goes kinda quickly. Guess the 5.9 aint work that great with it... btw, I have 2003 4.7L, its a diff computer/jet chip.
