I was wondering if someone could help guide me , I am trying to Change & Flush Coolant in my 03 Durango , I drained the Radiator, then my Haynes Repair manual directs me to drain the engine block drain plugs, says there is one on each side of the block? I looked and can't seem to find any plugs on either side, Any helpful hints would be appreciated.

What engine?
My 4.7 has two small block drains (one either side). They have a square head, pretty easy to spot.
I wouldn't worry to much about draining the block though. Just drain as much old coolant as you can, then flush it out and refill.

I got rid of the Dex-cool and put regular Green stuff in.
There is a lot of debate on this, but I prefer the green stuff, plus I probably had about 20 gallons of the green when I serviced the cooling system.
If you do this, you need to make sure to drain all the fluid.
That means removing the block drain plugs.
You also need to really flush the system very well.
Do not mix the green with the orange.

We don't have Dex-Cool. It's a GM product.
I'm not positive what it is to be honest. Mine was drained a while ago when I installed a block heater and I refilled with the universal stuff. Not a single problem with it.
Be glad you don't have a VW (like we do) and have to put in G12 coolant which costs $20 a gallon at the dealer

Ahhh.
I suppose you still don't want to mix different antifreezes though.
Make sure to get the correct stuff.

it's real specific about the type of Antifreeze you can use in the new engines. Even my FSM has a set of dire warnings about the Antifreeze. :stirthepo Brew up your own or use what they tell you...???
LOL :funny:
