Whenever I try to type in the address, it starts to load the page and sometimes I get as far as seeing the banner at the top of the page and then Firefox freezes. It wont let me go any farther and I end up having to end the browsers task and close it. The site works fine if I type in the 64.150.167..... yadda yadda, or if i go to it in IE 7.

I have both IE6 and FireFox 2.0.0.3 on my work system. I just refreshed the website with both browsers - main page, forum, etc. and it worked fine.
The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is to make sure that your Java plug-ins are updated properly - the banner ad system uses a Java call (I plan on changing this to a non-Java system within a few weeks if I can find the time on the weekends to re-code the pages).
Open your control panel, select Java control panel, Update tab... -or-
http://www.java.com - just download the full version and re-install it.

Hrm... have you flushed your internet cache? Your system may be having conflicts with old/new files that are cached. Try pressing the control key on your keyboard and clicking the refresh button in your browser, that will force it to reload everything on the page from scratch instead of pulling some elements from cache.

I was having a problem freezing too, but when I diasbled java I was able to get on with no problem. It may have just been AOL too, because if I use Safari it works okay.

Mine does that too, but it doesnt freeze all the way...just for a second and then it loads and going straight to the forum instead of going through the main page always load fine. I usually just do dak-dur.com/forum anyway so its not that big of a deal.
I use Firefox too.
