I would like to get a regular cab dakota R/T for my next truck. The reasons I want the R/T are 1. it has the 5.9L motor with lots of power and lots of room for mods to give it more power, and 2. the handling from the lower profile tires and suspension (that and I test drove one when I was looking for a car for my wife and I loved it, but couldn't buy it because I had to get a car for the wife).
My problem is, you can't just buy a new regular cab R/T and they are hard to find in washington used and the fact the the R/T only comes with an auto trans from what I've seen. I'm torn because I want the power of the 5.9 with a few mods and I'm afraid it would cost a lot to get the 4.7 to get the same ammount of power, but at the same time, the 4.7 is much easier to find and you can get it with a manual trans, but it would require some money on suspension, wheels and tires, to match the R/T handling.
Basically I need a truck, but I want a sports car so I'm trying to figure out the best way to get both in one vehicle. My plan was to get an R/T (if I can find one) and put some airbags and tow package on it so I can have my sports car handling and power, but hit the airbags and and be able to haul some weight or tow a trailer.
Any advice?
