I was in the process of taking parts off of the door panel and found some issues. the window panel is held on with 3 screws. the door handle has plastic rivets holding them on. the passenger side air vent just pops out (simple) I'll post some pics in a few minutes. Any ideas about the plastic rivets??? I don't know if I want to bust them off or not :help:

I had to deal with those same PITA plastic rivets when i did my door inserts. I just cut the heads off and used some screws with washers to put everything back together.

That is what I figured I have to do,Small screws and washers to hold it together,

I used a dremel tool with a cut-off wheel to cut the heads off. Im sure you guys could find a better way to do it though.

I was pretty brutal with mine (was in a hurry), I just yanked and popped the tops off the tabs, then used 10 small wood screws per panel to put them back together.

You had to pull all of yours off tho, so you could get that swade wrapped on there. I don't have to... so I just *popped*(inside joke) the first two off,... slid the handle and what not off... and let it be. The panel is still on there... and it's not bent or anything,... so I don't really need wood screws....:D

Steve, did you or another company do your door inserts? Do you know how the suede(sp?) was attached?

I did it myself. I bought two linear yards of dark grey suede from a local upholstery shop, some contact cement from Wally World, and then used a paint brush to apply the cement and attach the suede. I used 10 small screws per insert to reattach it to the door panel.

ok, thanks. I did mine similar except in black vinyl. The vinyl is starting to stretch a little bit (guess i didnt wrap it around tight enough). Looks like ill be redoing it soon. BTW, the edges are very hard to get smooth when using vinyl.
I forgot to ask, did you take the original cloth material off?

No, I left the cloth in place and just made sure I used a healthy amount of glue to bond the two surfaces together. I like how it has a soft feel to it, the suede by itself would probably be too thin.
