Wet Drivers seatbelt.

Greetings and salutations.
I just purchased a 01 Durango last weekend.
I'll admit i've never been a domestic vehicle enthusiast, prefering
non-riced imports, specifically classic datsun/nissan Z cars.
Although i drove my wifes 97 Jeep TJ for a few years and loved it.
The Durango is the "family" vehicle that we bought to replace a Pathfinder
that replaced the Jeep.

anyway

Its developed a water leak on the drivers side that is saturating
the seatbelt. I've searched and seen mention of a TSB that mentions the B
pillar and water leaking but nothing specific. There is no visable water in the
cabin. The seals on the wire passthru to the rear drivers door look solid.
Before i tear into the interior trim, is there a known cause/fix with this sort of leak?


also, are there any other boards that i should join or a FAQ somewhere that
addresses common problems so i don't ask questions that have been already
answered a bajillion times.

Without having looked at mine, I'll throw something out there.

Does your Durango have rear air. If so, is it possible that the rear air water drain is plugged and causing the A/C condensation to overflow down the B-pillar on the drivers side.

I don't have a factory service manual for the Durango here, so I might be WAY off.

A down and dirty way to find leaks is to get inside and have someone hose down the windows and doors and look for the leaks.

I think i'll have to try the hose/carwash method, as this was noticed the next
morning after a night of almost non-stop rain. The seals on the rear and front
doors looked fine upon inspection, but i'll look again when its dry and i can fit it
in the garage. It was wet back on the spooled section of the retracted belt, the
exposed belt and surrounding area were dry.

i got a FSM on the way so i can check out the drain idea.
