I am about to embark on a 2000 mile round trip, what should I do to ensure a trouble-free drive?
Obviously I'll change the oil, maybe a trans flush, air presure, etc etc, what I am looking for is anything out of the rhelm of the "normal" things...

BG 44K in at least one tank before to flush it out andget the gunk out of the lines and injectors. Check everything overat least twice, replace your Serp. if it's been more than 36K since the last one.

2000? bah you call that a road trip??? :nana:
the family and I drove down to the midwest in '05 from alaska and logged about 12,000 mi that summer
before we left i changed out all the fluids, put in new plugs, wires and cap. new brakes, tires
The only thing other than what you listed is maybe change out your plugs and consider your O2 sensor
gas prices are going to be a bitch.

Tell me about it, I am paying $3 a gallon right now. I don't know how that compare across the country, but it's extremely high for around here.

"S" belt definately! I actually have 87k on my truck, and the belt looks new and I'm not kidding, it's crazy! There's really no way to "test" the o2 sensors until they actually go out, you could always buy one just in case and take it back later...
Anyways, good luck on your trip! Be safe  <---Actually, don't do this if you're drivin lol
