Just bought 2001 3.9L club cab need advice

i just bought a 2001 dodge dakota club cab short box 2wd. I'v got about $3000.00 for perforance mods i don't want to go too crazy with a supercharger, but would like some ideas on how too make some good HP. thanks.

For $3000 you could add a good cam, lifters and valve springs. An F&B throttle body. Modify the intake manifold to remove part of the divider and maybe change runner length. Add a plenum plate. A cat-back exhaust. Depending on how much of the other work you do, a different set of rear gears really helps too. This will get you on your way to a good street performer. Good luck.
