I recently purchased a 2000 Durango R/T. I got it to tow my boat, but before i took the boat through the mountains, i wanted to test it out. I took a short trip through some mountain highway near my house and just going up the hill cuased the ebgine to overheat. Does anyone know what the problem may be? I need to cool it down before i even attempt to take the boat out. Thanks

do you have the tow package on your R/T? I don't know the specs on R/T's but trans cooler comes to mind.

yeah, only overheats on uphill climbs.

I was watching the fan and on most vehicles the fan spins faster with higher RPM's, but i noticed that mine doesnt. Is that caused by the clutch fan?

I am going to take it to a mechanic friend of mine and have him check the water pump.

If your fan is spinning slower than usual sounds like the clutch is gone.
