Speaking of, what did you guys do to mount the rails to the bed sides? I'll be installing mine tomorrow.

Since innovations is out of biz, and I couldn't get the clamp on system, I went the crappy ol' fashionsed way, small drill bit, screws, screw gun

The clamping system sucked anyway. Yeah I just used the supplied self tapping screws and bolted it into the bedside. :onethumb:

I'm going to find some nice stainless, allen head bolts and go that route. Hell, gotta drill holes anyway, might as well make it pretty.

Something tells me they wouldn't have shaved my locks for the $500. price tag. But you guys made out like bandits. Most of the time when the supply gets lower the price goes WAAAAY up! Good job! :onethumb:

I was tempted to have the locks shaved on mine after looking at the pics of your truck. If you haven't noticed, I envy your truck more than any dak I've ever seen, and have been trying to "mirror" some of your cosmetic mods. ;) Hence the 20's, tonneau, removing the bumble bee stripe. But I really wanted to be able to lock my cover since this is the primary shopping vehicle come Christmas time. So I elected to leave them. But I'm thinking about taking some black touch up paint to them so they don't stand out so much.

Got mine put on tonight. Do you guys realize that the only thing really holding this thing on is the shocks? Unless I'm missing something. Can one of you guys get me a picture of the latch that's attached to the lock? I need to make some new ones.

I appreciate the nice comments. True, I can't currently lock my tonneau. But once the linear actuators go in they will keep the lid down and secured.;)

I can't help you with the locks situation, don't have them. But the tonneau should be held on to the truck by both the shocks and the hinges at the front of the truck's bed. Other than that it "floats" on the bed only touching the bed rails with the insulation as a proper tonneau should.

Well, to me it looks like that's the only thing holding it on. Those tabs just slip into the hinge. The reason that got me thinking about it was, I went to my friend's shop(where it was painted) to install it. I forgot the damn shocks at home. About a 1/4 of the way home it hit me, 'SHIT, that thing is just sitting on there basically!' So, about every 5 miles I was stopping to make sure it wasn't coming off, cuz I know no one wanted to see a man cry! LOL And I don't have the tabs for the locks, so that wasn't of any help either. It's home, safe and sound, and I'll have some pics next week so I can update the sig.

Jason,

On those tabs that slip into the hinges, they will only come out if the tonneau is like at 45 degree angle or something like that. Plus they should have small holes in those tabs where you can put a key ring into and then it won't come off at all.

AHHHHH Good advice! It was actually sliding back a tiny bit when I was bringing it home so that would work well. Thanks bud! :onethumb:
