Well, I bought that Dakota for $200 I was talking about a few weeks ago... Sad thing is that someone broke into it and stole the radio a few days before I picked it up.. HMMM They busted out the passenger side window in the process (Good thing no one bought the spare I was trying to sell :biggthump )

It's all a little fishy since when I went to look at the truck, I THOUGHT I remembered the doors being unlocked so why would anyone break the window unless it was a kid? And there is no point in locking the doors after the window is broke... Hmmm, just a little strange to me :rant:


Anyways, my plans for the truck are to get it back to excellent shape and slap a Magnum v6 in front of that 5-speed (where as it had a Pre-mag 4cyl in it)...

Right now I'm just trying to fix the window and its going to be harder than I thought... took me forever to figure out how to get the spare off the door...

After the window is fixed, I'm going to change motor mounts and throw the motor in there so at least it'll be sitting in the engine bay, swap that 7 1/4 rear for the 8 1/4 rear w/ only 30,000 miles (something else no one bought :jester: )... new clutch, set up all wiring for the magnum engine, etc... I'll just keep everyone posted because as of now I just want to fix this truck up for my Dad or just as a Daily Driver while MY Dakota waits for its 408 :mullet:

There was a LOT of junk in the interior... about 4 CASES of empty oil bottles, cig packs, glass, random junk... plus one 2XL Ingles work shirt :jester:

thats pretty cool man. you should gut the interior and just drive around with it like that. is that crap on the paint just dirt or is it set in, you should clean that up too. as soon as i have the money im gonna buy an old gen 1 or 2 4x4, just something t ohave fun with. looks like a cool project.

Well, Havent done much to the truck but my plans have changed a little... We had a 4x4 AUTO tranny laying around here so the 5-speed is going to be replaced... I hope to have it running within the month and I've been thinking about a custom Body lift.. not sure how big yet though... Hmmmm

i say cut the front wheel wells out and drop a BB w/ 4 speed auto, drop it a lil, roll cage, and a few other things here and there and you'd be set

well im in a bit of a pickle here and I need the truck gone so anyone want to come pick it up.. I'll let the truck and motor go for $250. The motor was good but it somehow got water in the intake so it'll need to be sprayed down with penetrating oil but other than that it is a good engine. Also comes with an extra set of magnum heads (v6)

plans are to put and 416 storker motor in it . i have got an 71 340 6 pack motor that i am going to use. 904 trans and a 8 3/4 rear end,w4.56 gears .
got the dog house off of it today. and made a bed cover for it. so have done some work on it . hope to get it to run in the 11.0's et.::stirthepo some pic for you . got it home from GA to Indiana .

What happened to that 5 spd that you were gonna sell me but your grandpa stepped in? (not complaining..... my dad used to do that sort of thing to me also and it was gonna be a "spare" anyhow).... I was going to swap from the 2WD tranny to a 4WD but lost interest in the project honestly. And we still have that transmission lol. Interested? lol
