Huh?! Us Canadian Durango owners just don't feel the need to talk quite as much as some Canadian Dakota R/T owners, but, we are here! :jester:
I have seen quite a few 4x2 Durangos in the Southwestern Ontario area over the years. I do think they are somewhat rare, not due to limited production, but because of our winters. Think about it, why would a person buy a big SUV and not opt for the 4x4 package? I can tell you, from personal experience, that a 5.9 Durango, in 2 wheel drive, is a pile of crap when the roads are slippery! I think 2 wheel drive was standard on the 98-99-00 Durango Sports. The SLTs all seem to be 4x4 and, in the later years, I don't think many 4x2 were offered on any models.
You might find more of the 4x2s in the Southern climates where they are used for towing or simply as a large station wagon.

There are tons of 2wd Durangos...in SWO and all over Canada, but I was referring to the amount that are active on this site
And I drive my 2wd Dak R/T every winter with no problems :biggthump
Maybe you just can't drive? :jester: :nana: :joke:

Or, maybe my 5000lb family truckster just makes more power! :nana:
Seriously though, I'm running 31" Michelin ATs and with the 3.92lsd rear end, I get mega wheel spin on wet roads with very little throttle. It really isn't all that bad in the snow, even in 2wd, but on rainy roads it can be interesting. I drive up and down a steep and winding road every day. When it's raining, the ass end often starts to wander when it downshifts to 1st on the way up. I would think the lighter R/T Dakotas would be worse!

I know that when i tried to orde one he dealers said they could only order 4x4 for canada and the 2wd was us only option. so waied unil this year and bought a southern us model 2wd the 4x4 question can be best ansered by a picture

You would think the Dak would be worse but I have never had a problem......I got some winter tires and about 250lbs in the bed and go easy on the gas. Don't get me wrong some times it slips but nothing bad. Maybe you should change tires

ok..well I used to have the stock RSA's and they suck...just put on the Continental contiextreme contact...and if i pull straight from a light and good gas...no spinning ...i have to add the 250 or 300 pounds for more traction on snow and then I'll tell you how it is..!!!
