O2 Sensor (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=NGK%2D23099&N=700+4294908110+4294907880+4294924677+401124+115&autoview=sku)

I'm assuming this is simply a take it out and put this one in kind of fix even though I know its gonna be a bitch. Just wanna know its direct replacement.

yep i believe so.
and yes for me it was a bitch to replace. its way up there and hard to get to. oh and wear gloves. your knuckles will thank you.

also if you have a lift it will make it easier.

are you doing the precat or postcat sensor? if you are doing the precat one there is a plastic tab the holds the wiring to the tranny (at least on the 4.7's), but just pull it off so that you can reach the easier the when done just force it behind the heatshield and it will stay put and better protected. i did this cause my hands aren't so small...

Its the 2nd O2 sensor, so the one after the cat. Shouldn't be too hard to get to, but after 8 years of being in there in New England, holy shit am I not looking forward to it, but I've got the entire weekend to work on my truck :biggthump .

It is easy, should be easy to do even if you dont have any mechanical experience. Not saying you don't, but I dont, and I did it.

i know some will say to use those special tolls fo rthe 02 sensor...well dont...just get a big cresent wrench at least a 12 inch...and if necessary heat up the exhaust and it will come out aloty easier...just don't burn your self :biggthump

+10000000000000000000 haha...yeah, been done with the repair for awhile: but to anyone else: a wrench and blowtorch is the way to go!

My upstream one came out just fine, did it on my back on a creeper. I didn't use a torch or wd40 or anything. My truck had over 200000kms on it, and survived since 99 in a Winnipeg winter...maybe it's the operator of the wrench ;)
