Castle Hayne and out near Blue Road. Been a while since I've been down there. There is a place called Master Machine in Castle Hayne, nasty trails behind it......just don't get stuck :nono:

Also in Greensboro, try Widowmaker near GTCC(Jamestown campus), Four Mile Loop(east GSO off of Burlington Rd.), and the Duke Power Right-of-Way(Northeast GSO on Lees Chapel Rd.) These trails, especially Widowmaker, are good trails. Uwharrie is by far your best bet for legal off-road riding in the central part of the state. If your rig can handle it, Tellico OHV in the western part of the state, is some sick shit. Bring a welder!!! Check out this link: http://www.tellico4x4.com/tellico_info_main.php

Yeah, I've been mountain biking out there but, a buddy and I went 4 wheelin' out near there. I've gotta call and ask him since he was driving. I'll get the particulars and repost. :onethumb:

i went out to silver terra powerlines and got stuck off one of the trails out there. It was a reallll rutted out hole and i got the frame stuck and my tires just were just spinnin. My bud in his cherokee couldnt get me out but when my other bud in a f250 came he pulled me out 1st try. When it gets wet out there it can be pretty fun.

There is one thing I've learned, you can't be broke/working class and have a daily driver you 4 wheel with. Ain't happening. I've been to those power lines(I think) and we had a hell of a time. Thing is we went around a lot of stuff to keep from getting stuck cause we were by ourselves. 4 wheelin' is also a two vehicle thing at a minimum. A bunch of us were at Uwharrie years ago and there were 6 trucks of various types. One guy totaled his truck cause he slid down a hill backwards and wrapped it around a tree(overzealous). Another guy rolled his(being stupid). Another guy busted two universal joints AT THE SAME TIME, in the same hole. All those guys drove these trucks every day. U-joint boy was able to get his shit fixed(me). Roll over man was driveable(up to 40mph) till it started shaking too bad. Totaled was just that, totaled. I rode so no skin off my ass 'cept I got to change the U-joints on the Scout that blew them out. Long story........lot of bumming rides after that. Lots of paychecks and years later these guys have Rock-crawlers and dedicated 4x4s they tow places. They(30's) also still live with their parents. Me, I'm married, have a little girl, own a house, and I learned how to weld so I can fix their stuff if they need it. Don't get me wrong it is a BLAST!!! I do have fun, I just tread lighter than I used to.

Haha i understand completety, being at UNCW and working 20 hours a week is challenge sometimes, having a fulltime gf can be expensive too, but its worth it ;)
I put a little bit of money into the truck every week, like this week i ordered a highflow cat, bought a cb radio, and a new balljoint. Im getting a body lift for free, i just have to get a steering extension, and stepbars and tips for my exhaust for a hundred. Ive got 35" tires waiting to go on, and that will be next couple weeks. After that list, theres nothing else i really want to do in the near future.
The reason i got stuck is because of inexperience, i took the rutts waaaay to slow to make it through, and another duh huh on my part, my 30" tires really werent made for tough offroading, but you learn. My truck is my daily driver, so take it light most of the time.
