I sent a PM to Adam yesterday,asking that my truck be removed from the TOM voting. I didn't want to bring this out on the boards, but since he hasn't responded to my request, I will.
I considered it fun, and somewhat of an honor to have my efforts recognized with the nominations, I in no way asked anyone to nominate me, nor did I solicite votes, infact the only thing I did was post pics in this thread so that people could judge my truck for themselves. However, once I realized that the "5 door whores" were not only making it a point to nominate one of the durangos each month, for no other reason than to have a Durango represented and then to find out they went as far as having members of DOC join up here for no other reason than to vote and win, I asked Adam to remove my truck from the voting process.I want to win/lose because of how people view the truck and the work i've done, not by make or model.
I'm not upset to loose to a Durango, or any other make or model for that matter. I have built my truck to please me, the fact that so many others enjoy it as well is added bonus.
Anyway thanks to those who nominated my truck, and to those who voted for it. And everyone who voted for the other 2, based on the fact that you liked what you saw, and truely felt it deserving of your vote, thank you as well.

Actually all the Durangos that have been posted have been here just never registered (they were all Lurkers)before. This site actually comes up quite frequently over at our site.
One thing it did do is Bring more members here as well. It is the Dakota-Durango site so it is great that now we have more Durangos as well as all your really fine Daks.
I dont think you should remove yourself its all just good fun and like I said now there are more registered members over here as well.
I have used several resources as well as alot of the other posters have from this site.
I would understand if the registering people did not own Durangos or Daks but each and every one of them is a Dodge Truck owner.
Cmon Stay in I am sure you will rally and it will be a Fun Race.

Well Said Bill, I agree with you 100% i noticed this too and wondered myself what was going on, thats terrable that this went on....and for the Durango guys who took part in this would you have really felt better about winning the TOM like this rather than the honest way? I use to own a durango myself and I didnt like the fact that Dakotas always won TOM but I always voted for the Truck I liked best weather it Was a Dakots or Durango

Because we never made the Final Voting.
Amazing nothing was said until the vote count came close.
Durangos due have a part here but a much smaller part than any Dak.
As I stated to Bill in a Pm I dont care win or lose for TOM I was trying to create a more competitive race. It is not like I had office workers signing on ,These are Durango Owners whom have Lurked here for a long time.
As for it being convenient for them to register now, that is true I do get support from them as You do from your fellow Dak and Dak RT owners. Believe it or not some of them had no idea that you guys did TOM over here like this and it is different from the way we do it at our site.
I have PM 'd Adam as well indicating that if he feels the need to DISQUALIFY me So Be it.
It was all in Fun , The Whole Durango 5 door Whore Rally and all. If you cant see it like that I am Sorry.
If we didnt rally together to get in the running, RARELY WOULD ANY OF YOU DAK OWNERS EVER NOMINATE US.

Well isn’t this a kick in the pants. From the beginning of time, contests and elections were won on parading and campaigning for votes. This is all that happened. He gathered the Durangos together and we voted as 1 to help our representative win if he could. And if you look at what he has done to his truck, you might see that this particular durango is VERY well kept and VERY modded, enough to make me vote for it even if there was nothing but durangos in the competition. You all have to understand that the DOC has members that frequent both there and here. I was a member of both before this fiasco occurred and will continue to be a member of both. But those of you that think this was malicious and that he is undeserving are wrong. It was simply a matter of people sticking together. And besides, there are more Dakota owners here that have NOT voted than there are Durango owners that have BY FAR. So like they have said before, this has brought more members and voters to the competition. Some of you have gotten "upset" that people have become members "just to vote" but then there are probably hundreds of dakota owners who are members that dont give the site enough attention to take 2 seconds to vote. So just realize that it is only a competition for good clean fun and that no one is going to win the world or lose their family over it. Dodge has made four generations of Dodge Dakota, and two generations of Dodge Durango. As unfair as some people may believe the subject to be, it is impossible to force someone to be impartial to how they look at each of the 6 models - everyone has some sort of favorite. It is very difficult to appreciate all the little things that make each truck unique.

Although the timing of their registration is obviously geared towards the TOM program, I do consider this particular situation different than what we faced last month, simply because I have been a member of the DOC forum for many years, and know that these recent registrations are actual Dodge Durango owners whom have surfed this site behind the scenes for a long time. I certainly wish that some of them had become active sooner, but hopefully taking the time to register will entice them to come check us out more often and become regular users of this forum as well.

All this being said, the TOM program is Adam's baby.

Jeesh, what the hell did I miss. To set the record straight I definitely did not go out of the D-D.com site to promote the voting for FSTDANGO3 truck for TOM this month. I just tried to generate support from the members on this site. I think that it is too bad that this TOM voting has turned into something negative. In the past I have received PM's from fellow dakota members here saying for me to go to other forum's to vote for their trucks for TOM. Which i have done with no second thought. Also I have noticed that in past votes the Quad Squad, Club Cab Crew, etc have campaigned quite strongly for there fellow truck to win and have only voted for there respective type of truck. So it is not like this is the first time there has been campaigning for a single truck because he/she belonged to a sub group. Everybody is proud of their trucks here and naturally have a certain bias towards there style of truck. This has been like this since I joined over 2 years ago and will be into the future as well. So I hope that this month's TOM voting does not ruin the honor for this months winner as well as the future winners. wrkofrt I think that should reenter the running. You were winning the time I looked and you definitely deserve to win because you have a sweet dakota but so do the other contestants. So lets all be cool enjoy the rest of the voting because this was a close and exciting race.

Everyone that voted owns a MOPAR Truck and everyone has been to this site before. Part of the reason some never posted before is that they always felt that there were not many D's here. They came with the sole purpose to vote for one vehicle, yours. You didn't ask them to come over and vote for the truck they liked best, you asked them to vote for you, and in a later post you said that you would return the favor, which means you vote solely for Durangos because they are Durangos,which makes the whole TOM bullshit. The whole recruiting people doesn't bother me too much but the last two months have taken it too far!!! getting a couple/few people is fine but when that many people go in there and really rig the votes cause they like the person or like that they have a 4x4, quadcab, durango, r/t is a slap in the face to people who have put tons of hours into their vehicles, and lose to a bunch of Future George W. This is getting absolutely rediculous.

People have suggested splitting up the TOM program in the past, but it is absolutely impossible to separate things into every single possible category. Face it folks - everyone has a favorite type of vehicle, and it goes beyond just whether it's a Dakota or a Durango. There is four different generations of Dakota, and two different generations of Durango. Some people setup their trucks for off-roading, some go drag racing, some set them up for audio competitions, some lay frame, some do car shows, some like keeping it stock and clean.

This is an absolute non-issue for me. Here are the facts of life: People are going to be biased towards particular types of vehicles. People are going to vote for their friends. People are going to encourage people to nominate and/or vote for them. People have been doing this for years - how many signature files have you seen requesting help with the TOM program?

My biggest beef with last month's controversy was that the people were not Dodge Truck owners. They all registered from one IP, none of them own Dodge trucks, and it was highly doubtful that any of them would ever login again.

Listen we are all supposed to be somewhat like each other yet we have different styles and opinions. I personally like it here and dont want to be the cause of something this out of control. It seems some felt I was and that is ok as well. I would just encourage for the future to look around the site more look at others rides for what they have done to them as said above , For what level of dedication they have put into them, and for at least a little of what uniqueness they have applied as well.

There is no Argument that my club members came and voted to support as I would for any of you in a competition. We need to all move forward and learn from this.

I did it after lurking at DOC, (much like many of them do here) and finding a post directly asking people to vote solely on vehicle type, not only that but that one of them was even willing to vote using 4 different email addys. The paint alone is flawless (from the "Dri Wash and Guard" no doubt). When I saw the halo/hidden images of the R/T under Bill's paint on the rear tailgate, that alone was it for me. I have 163000 miles on my D and consider the paint a key to how the truck is taken care of, rigged, etc.

IMO, who cares how, just win baby. No doubt Dak-D is Dak centric in quantity of participants. No doubt folks have always solicited votes. No doubt the Durango crowd got motivated (by part by a post RIGHT HERE at the Dak-D site no less: http://www.dakota-durango.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24716 surprise, surprise... Not that it matters, but the paint has been fixed for about 3 weeks now. Hope we meet up at some shows, been looking to get a local group of Durango/Dakota owners together to possibly have get togethers as well as help one another with the installs and such.

By reading through the posts above, Steve has withdrawn his ToTM nomination already. That leaves mopar318 as the only truck in the running.

The site just hasn't updated it in the poll above. It is probably a software glitch and I don't think they can post a poll with one listing. That is probably why they both still show up.

The DTW forum I am in has 10 vehicles in the ToTM running which keeps this from happening if a few drop out. Just a thought. I'm sure there are enough trucks to nominate as many as needed.
