Water Pump Special Tool

I need to change the water pump in my 01 d'ango 4.7 slt+. Fig 42 (pg 7-46) of my service manual calls for a special tool (spanner wrench, p/n 6958). Is this something I can get at an auto parts store, a dealer-only item, or is it REALLY needed at all? If so, does anyone know the dimension?

the spanner tool has pins that keeps the pulley from rotating. I would check with your local autozone to see if they have that tool. Remember the threads are right hand. Don't lay the viscous fan assembly down flat either. Lay it next to something.
