Great news here for the Mobile / Baldwin county area. :biggthump
Investors have announced plans to build a state of the art motorplex here in our area. Oval track, road race course, dirt track, and the best part of the park a true 1/4 mile dragstrip. :clap2:
They are considering one location in Mobile and two possible sites in Baldwin county.
They will decide on the site very soon and complete and ready for competition in 2009.
Oh well I guess the hunt is back on for another toy! Sure as hell don't want to tear up the Durango.
71 Demon, oh yeah I spent months looking for a non running good body v-8 version. :drive:
Couldn't find one, settled for my Z28. The hunt is back on. :cussing: :woot:

hey, another mobile person :mullet:  . i think it is going to be great for the local economy, but it seems that noone wants it in baldwin county (from the articles i've read in Mobile Register) and they're kinda iffy on it being here in mobile...which i think is really the best of the two. it will definitly boost our market...more jobs, ALOT more tourists and them spending here in mobile, and things this big tend to have a ripple effect....economy boosts up, more income, and mobile will be on its way  . plus i wanna damn 1/4 mile track! :rockwoot:

I agree either county will benefit from the project. I have a business associate who is a leading candidate for managing and marketing the entire project.
It will lead to a couple thousand jobs, this project includes a round track, 1/4 mile drag strip, road race course, boat racing, several types of ball fields, on site hotels, resturaunts, and retail space. Huge benefit for the economy.
PM me sometime and maybe we can meet up here in Mobile.

Well I have finally made the change to correct the spelling.
It was late at night and I was really excited to finally have a real drag strip closer to home.
The piece of assfault (mis spelled purposely) we have here is an 1/8th mile track that is actually a few feet short of an 1/8th and slightly runs up hill.
It was actually built by the owner of the round track next door. Not so sure the track is actually round, hell, while at the drags we frequently get visited by the roundy guys over the fence.
He should have just built a 1/4 track and let the roundy guys run on it.
You might pick up on it, don't really watch NASCAR, my dog makes plenty of left hand turns, much more entertaining.
Have a good one.
