OK - So from the other Mid-West meet post - I'm posting a "Meeting in the MUD" for all mid-west D's.
The meeting will be @ St. Joe's OHV park in Park Hills, MO.
Here's a map of the OHV park: http://www.jimbennett.net/pathfinder/regions/region3/StJoeStatePark.html
To get there from STL, take 55 south to 67 south. 67 South to 32 West (Flat River/Farmington exit...all I remember is that there is a DQ on the right as you get off 67). Take 32 to the park entrance (maybe 10 - 15 minutes after getting off of 67). Just follow the signs from there.
Here's the park link: http://www.mostateparks.com/stjoe.htm
It's $3.00 a vehicle, per day. You can camp there if you'd like. Our D's are only permitted in the tailings area's, not in the woods (but there's plenty fun to be had...trust me). You do have to have a 6' staffed orange flag mounted somewhere to your truck to wheel in the OHV area.
Well, I hope this works out - this would make for an extremely fun day. I'm polling we do this on a Saturday, starting towards St. Joe from STL at around 8 am or so. Anyone who has a video camera is highly encouraged to bring it - I will have my digital camera and my laptop with me!
Can't wait to do this...even if it's just me :biggthump ....but don't let that happen guys :cussing:

I am totally there! :mullet:
And I'll come down friday and camp :woot: :biggthump
I'll have both of my toys.
My ATV and my Dakota.
Question, how much are those retarded orange flag things and where do I get them?
I have always gone off roading on my own land so never needed a flag before.

That is cool! I'll be there with just the D...unless I can get my buddy to go with the ATV's :biggthump
The "tard" flags - you can get at any motorcycle shop...even @ Walmart I believe. The easiest way to mount on your D (if you don't mind drilling into your D) is to go to Home Depot or Lowe's and buy a piece of 1 1/2" or 2" Strap Steel or an equivelent, drill a hole in it big enough for the mast flag mount at the bottom, and mount it to the front bumper (top). Now I see you have a grille guard, so there may be a way you can make a mount to that vs. the front bumper. They only cost between $10 - $18, depending on what you get. You can also get them on-line @: http://www.wheelerwhip.com/orderonline.html
FYI - I'm holding out on whether or not to camp myself...just because I need a date decided first. I have allot of projects coming up at work that hit on the Friday's before the Saturdays we are voting on. Also, I want a bunch of us to show up.
Everyone - My goal here, of course, is to get a bunch of D's together for some fun (besides hanging out in a parking lot - not that there is anything wrong with it). If you want to come and not run your D in the mud & stuff, no problem! Make the trip down in whatever you want to play with...or come down and ride with me or anyone else - I have 3 other seats in my D! Either way, it's free to get into the park, as long as you are not running in the OHV area!
C'mon guy's - let's do this :biggthump

Thats a good point.
If anyone wants to come down and party but not run their D, you're more than welcome to ride with me as well :biggthump
I have an ext cab and a bench up front, so I can take two adults, and a couple kids in back if you have kids.

yeah - I might go. I may end up embarrasing myself and riding with someone else - but I've always wanted to know what the ol' 2wd will do. Is the park 2wdable?

Absolutely. St. Joe only allows our trucks in the "tailings" area and not on the trails. I see 2wd rails (buggies) and trucks out there all the time. Just make sure that if you are going to play in the mud, you have access points on your D to pull it out (if you get stuck) and that you have decent tread on your tires. So basically, we are going to play in a huge sandbox (dunes) with the bonus of some muddy area's :biggthump

I really want to do something like this again in the future...but the lack of responses from the STL crew sucked...
Oh well, I'm headed to LBL, Kentucky (Turkey Bay OHV) 1st weekend in Nov. - so maybe towards the end of Nov, beginning of Dec. I'll try again.

If anyone is interested in going to St. Joe...I'm heading down there again on 11/25/2006. My plan is to get there around 10 - 11 am, run the D for awhile (depending on my rack-n-pinion replacement) then heading out on the trails with the ATV's.

You guys missed a great, beautiful day Saturday...although is was 5 lanes deep in the overflow area! It was packed but fun!
I couldn't believe how much mud & water there was out there...just spent $8 in quarters to get the mud off so that I could wash her :biggthump
