Just called Phoenix Imaging to get a quote on sending an RT steering wheel in JUST to get it reconditioned. NOthing fancy, no carbon fiber or any graphics.....$300, now I find that a little high, no, very high, that's just me, any other suggestions guys?

This is Robyn with Phoenix Imaging, the one you spoke with. When you said you wanted your wheel reconditioned, I assumed that you wanted it done in our process. If what you are looking for is simply a leather rewrap, the cost is $195.
Thanks,
Robyn

lol, Robyn, I hope you're not mad at me, I didnt know if I seemed a little vauge on what I wanted done, please forgive me, Yes, I have pix of the steering wheel that I'd like to get reconditioned, just make it look new...still $195? that includes all the shipping and what not? What did I read on here about a Core Charge or Steering Wheels?

What most people don't realize is that there simply isn't any other alternative for our trucks that can spiff up the steering wheel without losing the airbag (other than buying a cheap wheel cover). You can rip everything out and use a mismatched Chevy adapter to mount a Grant or Momo wheel, but you're still looking at equal or higher cost depending upon the wheel.
I had one of the PI wheels in my 03 R/T and absolutely loved it. I also liked how the hydro-graphics matched the work I had done on the dash and other parts so it complemented the interior instead of looking out of place.

That's sweet too, but, I'm going to buy a wheel that doesnt have the air bag, just the wheel and probably use my air bag if possible...

FYI - the steering wheel shaft is a bit different between models, I'm not sure where the line is drawn between year/make/models but I found out the hard way a couple of years ago that there is at least two different shaft types. You should remove your OEM airbag and take a look at the shape of the shaft and compare it to whatever OEM wheel you purchase so there's no incompatabilities.

Thanks for the praise, SinCity! I don't have any steering wheel cores for Dakotas at the moment, so no core charge, and I can do a factory wheel that wasn't originally leather.
Thanks!
