Engine did not shift

Oh, I was following my brother somewhere today, and he was messin with me. He would go really fast to where there was no way that i could catch him and then slow way down so i could catch up (i did not know my way to where we were going). Well anyways, one time i got fed up with it and decided to punch it and follow him, but the problem was that i was going about 50 (don't know but the engine was red-lined) and the engine would not shift! It did not shift until a couple seconds after i let off of the gas. Could this be low trans fluid or what? :huh:

I'm having the same problem with my 2000 R/T it still under warranty tho it could be the ecu, the throttle valve adjustment or (Worst Case Sernerio the transmission valve body is shot if I was u I'd check the transmission section of this particular forum) :drink:
