What's My Rear??

Does my 2001 quad cab with the 5.9 have the limited slip rear like the rt?
It doesn't act like it because it spins one tire all the time. I am also wanting to change the fluid in the rear end; is there a gasket for the cover or is it silicon??

Check your glovebox or the axle tag and it'll say what gear ratio you have, and if it's a LSD or not. You can use either a gasket or silicone for the diff cover.

I didn't know there was a gasket for the 9.25" rear though...I'd rather buy a gasket than scrape and reapply that damn silicone each time.

I need to do my axles and transfer case this summer. I did the rear end with synthetic shortly after buying it, but the t-case and front axle are stock still with ~56K on them... :slap:

all you have to do is look in the glove box on the sticker. it will say what gear ratio is in the rear, the axle diameter (ie. 9.25"), and it will say what type of differential it has (ie. anti spin diff, for LSD).
