Hey guys,

I am getting back into the R/T scene. I owned a black cc R/T sold it to purchase my 03 Cobra and then onto my 04 Lightning. Now I am looking for another R/T.

My question is, are there any reliable engine builders around West Texas, I live in Midland Tx. I plan on building a 408 and purchasing all the upgrades with it. I have been out of the loop for a while, just curious if any of you know some info that would help me get started?

hrmmm.... if ya wanna venture to the other side of the state, there are a couple in the Tyler/Longview area.

Sam P in Cali has a good engine builder as well.

IIRC, there is/were some good short tracks in that area, ask around and see who is using who to build there motors.

their is AUTOMOTIVE MACHINE in odessa. i have a friend who has had some hotrod motors built there. they were all chevys, but they do work on all types of motors. that is the only place i can think of that have a good rep. but if you want to talk to some local guys go to anythingcars.com there is some people that are pretty helpful, but only a few dodge guys. but maybe someone can tell about someone.

Try Pro Motion or Wingers machine shop. Both are in San Angelo. Winger is a drag racer and a damned good builder. Pro Motion is a great shop as well

you could try buying the short block from Mopar, then bolting the rest together on your own. they've got quite a few crate motor combinations coming out now...including a small block 440!
