Might get some flack for this but I put a 3" single exit, Raven Cat Back on mine and love it. It changed the sound of it ever so slightly but sweetly. I am very happy with it and am glad I got it. I didnt want the putz's at Midas to put it on but I was there so what the heck. I have to admit, I 'm with your wife on this one. I didnt want a loud truck either and I sure cant stand that flowmaster crap everyone on the planet has. Thats just me.

I have a Flowmaster Force II cat back on my Dakota. My wife likes the sound. The Force II system has a 50 series muffler which is a 3 chamber and is quieter with less interior resonance than the American Thunder systems with the 40 series.
BTW, Jegs has these systems on sale for about $160.00. It's an easy bolt on and took my about an hour to install on my Dakota (did use a sawsall to cout out the old exhaust).
