System Policies

From time to time I have received inquiries about system policies, so I figured I would draw up a simple FAQ list. If you aren't sure about a system policy which isn't listed below, please send me an e-mail at webmaster@dakota-durango.com or contact a forum moderator.

General System Policies:

(1) It is ok to post links to other sites such as MySpace, Personal Homepages, E-Bay Auctions, CarDomain Profiles, etc. The only exception to this policy is that I do not allow links to other Dodge Truck sites to exist in the official Link Exchange area, simply because none of them have ever linked back to my site, and some of them even ban links to other sites in their posts. It is ok to post links to other Dodge Truck sites in your normal posts, sigs, profile, etc.

(2) If the link you are posting will take the user to a website whose content contains audible profanity, nudity, or in general isn't something that wouldn't be good for your boss to see if he was peeking over your shoulder, you MUST post it in the "NWS Forum" (Not Work Safe), which is an optional subforum. See the notice posted in the General Discussion area for details on how to join the optional subforums.

(3) This is a site run by adults, for adults. Profanity is NOT filtered anywhere on this site. If a random f-bomb or other swear word makes it into your posts the moderators will not spaz out. However, flame threads where you verbally assault other people will likely be purged. If you feel that a user, post, or thread has gone over the line please contact a moderator or the webmaster for evaluation.

(4) Harassment will not be tolerated on this site. Please refrain from jumping all over someone because they put something on their truck you don't like or because you disagree with their views on religion, politics, etc. People are not always going to see eye to eye - get over it.

(5) Racism will not be tolerated on this site. Off-color jokes are one thing (get a sense of humor!), but if you intentionally flame someone because of their gender, sexual orientation, color of skin, financial condition, etc. you should expect to be banned, especially if someone complains about it.

(6) People who register with the forum solely for the purpose of posting links to other sites (especially off-topic vendor sites) should expect to have their notes and users purged without warning.

(7) I highly encourage people to send feedback about their experiences on this site. If something rubs you the wrong way and makes you want to surf somewhere else please let me know via PM or E-Mail to webmaster@dakota-durango.com and I will do my best to resolve or improve the situation.

(8) I will host any video as long as it is related to Dodge Trucks. If the video is under 30MB in size you should be able to e-mail it to sincityrt@dakota-durango.com. If your video is larger or cannot be sent via e-mail contact me via AIM at SinCityRT and just send the video via file transfer - I am frequently AFK but have it setup to auto-receive multimedia files. If you do not have AIM contact me via PM or e-mail to arrange a temporary FTP account.
