Hey Amsoil Guy,

I keep hearing your Amsoil ATF is universal and can be used in place of Mopar ATF +3 and +4. How much is it per quart? Dodge dealers bend me over and I have to take it when I buy the ATF +4.

Oh yeah, where can I get it. No one around me has any, pepboys, national auto, and a bunch of others do not carry Amsoil universal ATF, any help there. I live in the 19053 zip code area, right by philadelphia.

Sam,

After you are finished reading this post check out this link AMSOIL Synthetic Universal ATF vs. ATF+4 (http://www.dakota-durango.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12756) in the Amsoil Forum on this website.

Regarding your question, It is not an easy question to answer. Amsoil is available in some stores -- mostly high performance speciality shops -- that lean more towards quality (for building performance and race engines, or an owner that appreciates superior products) than to a "price point", "big box" retail store (i.e. Walmart, etc.).

Amsoil is usually purchased through an Independent Amsoil Dealer like myself (via catalog or website) but if you want to find it on-the-shelf in your area ... one way is to check the Yellow Pages under automotive lubrication and/or oil. Some Amsoil Dealers advertise in the Yellow Pages and some do not. Finding it in a store is not easy since Amsoil has no interest in competing for shelf space, but specialty "Performance" stores are a good place to start your search. Word-Of-Mouth at a local track may also help you find Amsoil Products in a local store.

If you can't find it locally, I would appreciate the opportunity to be your Amsoil Dealer and help you in every way possible. Why not support a site sponsor (me) that supports and advertises on one of your favorite sites ... www.Dakota-Durango.com ?

The benefits of ordering via catalog ... you can become an Amsoil Preferred Customer and save between 20% and 25% across the board on all Amsoil Retail Prices ... basically buying at the same wholesale prices as an Amsoil Dealer (me). THIS OPTION IS NOT AVAILABLE AT A RETAIL STORE.

Note: ANOTHER WAY TO SAVE MONEY. Family members (and friends) can "pool" their orders and order in bulk, saving up to 25% as preferred customers, obtain quantity discounts, and save on shipping, which is handled by UPS.

I thought a quart of amsoil was generally cheaper than the +4 from mopar.

Sam,

I don't frequent the Dodge Dealerships since I left Georgia where my cousin is owner of a Dodge Dealership (my bro-in-law also owns one in England). In general, I recall the prices to be about the same that we charge for our Amsoil Synthetic Universal ATF.

PLEASE NOTE the AMSOIL DIFFERENCE:

BECOME AN AMSOIL PREFERRED CUSTOMER AND SAVE UP TO 25% OFF RETAIL

OTHER AMSOIL DIFFERENCES:

(1) Your local dealer or retail store does not offer an Amsoil Preferred Customer Membership (like joining a Costco and saving up to 25% off retail prices), (2) with Amsoil Synthetic Universal ATF you only need to purchase one brand of ATF (saves you $$$ and shelf space), (3) your nearest Amsoil Warehouse / Distribution Center is Lancaster, PA, and (4) Amsoil Synthetic Universal ATF is a SUPERIOR PRODUCT (just ask the guys who use it).

SPECIAL NOTE: *** Limited Time Offer ***

* FREE * (with purchase) AMSOIL Preferred Customer Membership (like joining Costco)

AMSOIL PREFERRED CUSTOMERS buy at WHOLESALE PRICES (DEALER COST)

BUY AMSOIL AT WHOLESALE PRICES (The Same Price I Pay As A Dealer)

For SITE MEMBERS, if you purchase $50 of Amsoil Products I will purchase for you a 6-month AMSOIL Preferred Customer Trial Membership ( $10 6-month trial and $20 year - like joining a Costco ). If you purchase $100 of Amsoil Products I will purchase you a 12-month AMSOIL Preferred Customer Membership.

I buy you the membership and you get the savings which are approx. 20% - 25% off retail prices on all AMSOIL Products.

This will save you money. Your order would ship UPS, delivery in 2-3 business days. (Amsoil does not charge a handling fee - and charges only the actual amount charged to them by UPS).

How do you take advantage of this offer?

Ages ago, I attended a motivational seminar by; Denis Waitley. He said the best investment he ever made was a 25 cent copy of "Think and Grow Rich."
The point?
It isn't the cost, it is the value.

I have 500,000 miles on the same transmission and engine of my 98 3.9, automatic Dakota.
I don't care, in the slightest, what Amsoil costs. It is the best product. And that, my friend, is value.

Just for reference, ATF+4 is $16/gallon from the dealership.

Sam Cler,
You asked if Amsoil ATF can replace something else.
Around 32,000 miles my wife's Honda Prelude went from being a 4-speed to a 2-speed automatic. All the clutches were warn to the metal.
Rebuilt it. Grilled the Amsoil tech. who insisted Amsoil would be okay, in spite of the Honda recommendation of baby oil or mineral oil or whatever it was.
Now, after 100,000 more miles, Oil Analyzers, Inc., the Amsoil subsidiary, says the analysis shows no abnormal wear. All Is well.
