The Signature Issue

Things were getting a little crazy and this site isn't flame central, some parties involved asked that the whole thing just be dropped, so I purged the threads.

Here is the current system policy regarding signature files:

1) No obscene graphics. While I certainly don't mind if a random f-bomb gets dropped in this forum, there are a number of people who do surf this site while at school or work and can easily get in trouble if a pair of boobs or some other graphic goes flashing by on their screen.

2) Please attempt to keep your photos reasonably sized. Your monitor may be 24" in size at 2000x1500 resolution, but some people do still use 800x600 so some pictures can end up as large as their screen. If you need assistance on how to shrink photos, please consult the FAQ thread in the Multimedia area, or consult one of the system moderators.

3) If you have a legitimate problem with someone else's signature file, don't get upset - contact myself or Adam or one of the other moderators, and we will kindly ask that person to alter their signature. Please understand that we're pretty nice people, if they don't feel like changing something as simple as graphic sizes we may just let it slide and that will be that, there's too many other stressful things in the world to stay worried about a sig pic. On the flip side, if we ask you to change your pic please be nice and help everyone out by complying.

If you want an extreme point of view... I say no text... only a pic, you can have text within the sig, just not around it.

See,... take a look at mine,.. very simple and sophisticated.

Either way... I'm not gunna bitch about it... although some people have really tiny monitors and I do understand that as I used to have one.

Im sure screen size had alot to do with this whole issue. Different resolutions make a huge difference in the way pages load.

I've decided to cave in. The fight wasn't worth it. He wanted all signatures to be like his, like his was the perfect signature. I agree, it is pretty spiffy. But then again, what do I know. I thought my old signature was cool.

Same here, last summer it was either goto school for an Electrician or drive truck, now everyday i sit in class i think about driving truck...I'm still going to get my CDL license in the near future.

Until I get them uploaded the best I can do for you is to add a link to an old webpage I did. I haven't updated it in 3 or 4 years but there is a few pics of my old trucks.
Note: The advice I give to everyone that ask about getting into trucking..... You'd be better off flipping hamburgers then trucking. After 28 years in this business I've seen it go downhill, I keep thinking it'll get better but it only gets worse. I've got a gravy job. I am leased to a company that is dedicated to Walmart. I am guaranteed $2,000.00 a week no matter what I do. Walmart runs you legal, when you are close to being out of hours they do not pressure you. When it is slow (frieght) they send you home. Since Dec 28th I've worked 2 days, I still get my guarantee.
I'm getting long winded so I'll end with saying if it is your dream and you think you want to do it. DO NOT pay for school. There are companies that will send you to trucking school and they pay for it. I see too many kids coming out of trucking school oweing thousands of dollars. Good luck.

really... wow... i considered attending NTTS at syracuse if i got out of the army last year. swift had some enticing perks also, with a nice apprenticeship program. but i was able to reenlist, and i drive humvees to and from the training ranges with a questionable amount of alertness.

Not sure about Swift (Stands for Slow Wagons In Fast Traffic) but I know Schnieder has a great training program thats free if after you pass you stay there for one year. I don't like orange trucks but if I was looking for free training I would go to them, they have a skid pad up in Wisc. that they'll have you go and see how you handle driving on ice. Call the BIG companies ( JB Hunt, Werner etc..) and see what they have to offer. Good luck
