I just ordered my body lift from performancelifts.com I am concerned that when I get this thing on that my wife will throw a fit. I know I know you can hear the WHIP cracking as I say this. I am still doing it I just want to know how hard is it to get a baby seat in your Quad Cab? Any thoughts and help would be appreciated. I would LIKE TO HEAR from DURANGO's TOO.

My WIFE >>>

atleast you got a quad cab, my ol lady been raising hell for about 6months now about my truck cuz she says there is no way to get a infant seat in there without it goin in the front seat, as for troubles with gettin it in your truck, shouldnt be bad at all, its still pretty easy to get stuff in and out of my truck, but im no expert on the baby seat stuff, just my opinion.

I've got (2) crumb snatchers, Hannah (5) and Jacob (3). Lil' "H" sits in a booster seat and uses the seat belt (no big deal other than getting her ass to sit still). Jake sits in a car seat...which if he keeps growing like a weed, I'll have to put him in a booster seat as well. I'm not tall (5'9 1/2), but his feet are already hitting the back of my seat. If you are using the "pumpkin" seat...the one for infants with the base you strap down, no problems - but when they get to be around 40" tall and in a car seat, watch out!

It's easy to get them in the seats...just a little cramped. It's even more fun to watch them get in the truck!! :jester: It's a freakin feat to see!

Have FUN!!!

Do you have side steps? I want ones that will bolt to the frame and flat agianst the body. I dont want the ones that hang real low after a body lift it looks silly. Thanks.

No, I have the Westin nerf bars...I think the look fine...but that's my opinion. You get a partial view of the frame, but they look good. Don't think I would go any other way unless I wanted rock sliders...but she's a pavement queen.

can you post some side shots of your vehicle? I think I am looking for something like yellowkota2k has. Just cant find them anywhere. I guess I will have to buy a mig welder and eventually build my own.

I'm with you...i plan on nerf bars once i get the lift, but i wont buy them unless they are close to the cab hiding the frame.

I had a friend here who welded up some for his ifs toyota 4runner and it was sharp looking. They functioned as a step but would protect the body off road. He used some heavy duty raw steel from a store around here in Colorado Springs.

The friend that made mine can also make them with steps on them. You can get something made just like mine, just with some tubular or rectangle steps. Best thing to do would be to contact a local welding or steel fabricator or shop than can do something custom.

If you have no luck, let me know. My friend would probably be willing to do anything custom you want. PM me if you're ever wanting something.

I may have to look you up after I get the body lift and tires on. THis will be crucial to keeping the peace between myself and the wife.

Well my kids 21 but trust me, unless you do some monster lift which involes an axle swap, its not going to make that much of a difference. Well unless your wifes 4 foot something :D

Should be receiveing the lift today. My wife is 5'7" so she shouldnt have a problem. I cant wait to see our kid try and climb in. That will be a few years from now though.
