New Paint Job?

okay well the day has come to finally get the bitch painted. The guy calls me today and says that he can paint my shit but has like x amount of time for me to get it to him with the scheme and the truck. I can give him half now and half when done. Three G's = shaved handles, third brake light and tails (third is away going completely), sanded mirrors or new, I buy new. The door shave/popper combo comes with some alarm with a screen.

He said we could posibly do the gas cap to and I said to make it go up the fender maybe (yellow regular cab did it on here-looked good). And this comes with brandywine Kandy Paint - I think. :help:


I'm not sure what I want, he kinda hit me with it like an hour

thats the thing, he is doing alot the shaving for free! But I am having doubts because what if I get in an accident and the parimedics cant get in my shit cuz I dont have any door handles, or if the track will let me race without them either?

Plus I REALLY like my current paint, but that kid painted his shit very similar to mine. I thinking about just having him color match handles and mirrors to current paint scheme, flip the tailgate handle and eliminate the third brake light and put a good pinstripe on it?

use left over money for MOTOR?

I know the kandy is so tempting my teeth hurt :drool:

I just know that if I do change the exterior my silver and black interior will have to change = more money, but thats what its for right?

mmmm candy paint, my opinion is, just have the mirrors and handles body matched, shave the third, shave antenna, tailgate handle too but only if you open the tonneau from outside, and keep the same paint, does it really matter if someone else has your paint scheme? i mean do they have all the same parts that you do that you cant tell a difference? just like where i live theres like 2 or 3 riding around that has blue daks look like mine but cant get my headlights or grille.

yeah, I hear ya. I already have my antenna shaved along with the magnum v8 symbols. Its just this is such a deal that its hard not to pass up, plus it wouuld be nice to show all these ghetto people what a real kandy job looks like

edit: I spent 30 minutes of my lunch break at the paint shop looking at color chips, but the damn sun wasn't out :cussing:

Shave the handles!!!!! If you wad your truck up enough that paramedics have to get you out, they will just break a window! If you wreck it bad enough to need taken out of the truck, It's prolly totaled and you wont need the window anyhow!

I know Amberfire-thats what tearing me between the two. I know on one hand it looks good and needs a little extra. Then there's this Kandy Brandywine that I was gonna use before the silver/black treatment.

One thing the think about when shaving you door handles is resale, its damn hard to find someone that wants it without handles, know what I mean. Me, I'd leave them on there. :biggthump

i dont think ive ever seen a street legal truck catch fire, nor have i ever seen one get near the wall. only things ive seen hit or get near the wall were full out drag cars powerful enough to stand up. plus what happens if your doors are locked, dont know about other daks, but my doors auto lock at about 15mph. :huh:

thank you for the kind words on the paint job, the sad part is the paint needs a complete redo because of the hurricane (shingles) and a hit and run accident at work. You wouldn't think it but I have been quoted at around 3 gs just to it back to how I had it. I caught the paint guy lying to me the other day about somthing (kinda relavent) and I don't really know how to take it. Yall are right I think I'm gonna stick with somthing very similar to what i have now, except for the minor body mods and ome third color thrown in. thanks guys

Your just partial to yellow, Im thinking about a light blue pinstripe, kinda teal like. I seen a color on a old duster that caught my eye. I am going to a mopar show/swap this weekend, maybe i'll decide there.
