Ok, so I broke down and forked out the dough for the 2" receiver.

Now I am faced with either a hack-n-chop universal truck lighting kit, which I refuse to use. Or a dealer provided lighting kit (plug-n-play) for about $200 after taxes.

I heard U-haul has and sells cheaper versions, but am having a hard time finding the right version/fit for an ‘05. Their in store reps want to just sell and get you out, which is fine if you could return their kits if they sold you a wrong fit.

I am looking for a 4blade/7plug combo.

My question is, has anyone found a successful alternative that is plug-n-play?

Or alternatively, can someone confirm via photograph that the 4blade/7plug combo connects directly to the vehicle wiring harness with less than 8 inches of wire/plug coming off of the unit. U-haul has one listed for my truck, but the combo unit's wiring coming off is short, not sure if there is a receptacle/plug hiding behind the license plate area. The other version the sell is a 4blade only version which ties into multiple areas (i.e. tail lights, license plate lights)

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Joey

Since the rain has let up, I have had dry time to crawl under the truck and do some inspecting for the truck towing harness wiring. The part I saw at Uhaul will not work alone. I may be able to buy both offered parts at Uhaul and make it work, but since they have a no return policy I may just go mopar for the piece of mind.

??% fit - Uhaul $72
100% fit - Mopar $142

I just bought the harness from the dealership for $160. No cutting/splicing needed, just plug in. It also has both types of plugs for older trailers. :biggthump
