supercharger ?

i have a 4.7l v8 2002 dak and i have been looking for any possible power upgrades for a long time and i have not been able to find any superchargers. im already thinking bout going the turbo rout but i went 2 the 4 wheel parts shop near me and the guy i was talking 2 said he drove a chevy wit one and he said it was incredible lag and he wouldnt get it cuz of that. he did say it added lots of power but the delay in response was dissapointing. so my quistion is are there any superchargers thatd fit my dak that ive just overlooked or not seen? thanks for the info.

Yes, you can get a supercharger. Beware though, they're a hefty $4k for our trucks. Paxton makes the only one right now.

As for power upgrades, there's PLENTY of things you can do to pretty much add the same amout of power as a supercharger.

I'd highly recommend doing the following things before a supercharger:

Intake
Exhaust
Throttle body
Lower gears
Camshafts
Headers
Head porting
PCM flash
Stall converter

With those mods, you should be pretty close to a stock engine with a supercharger on it. This would depend what specific items you do of course. Ouf of those 9 things, I've got the first 4 and my truck is MUCH quicker than before.

ya I have a superchips right now and my intake is on backorder. im getting a 40 single in/dual out in a few weeks. i also want to get the H.O. cams and manifold. im wondering bout the supercharger because im not 2 sure what 2 expect with a turbo. one characteristic i like about the turbo is that you can raise or lower the psi and i dont think thats possible with a s.c.

you should be able to by changing the pully on the supercharger. smaller pully= more boost, and larger pully= less boost.
