I'M STILL RESEARCHING WHICH TURBO SYSTEM I WANT TO BUILD. I HAVE HEADERS COMING IN THE MAIL. I WAS THINKING OF INSTALLING THE HEADERS AND SHORTENING THE Y-PIPE OR MAKING A CUSTOM Y-PIPE OUT OF EXHAUST FLEX TUBING. THEN USING MAINLY THE FLEX PIPE TO ROUTE ACCORDINGLY UNDER THE HOOD. SO PRETTY MUCH IT WOULD BE THE SAME SETUP AS A REMOTE SYSTEM ONLY WITH MUCH LESS PIPE AND EVERYTHING UNDER THE HOOD. I CAN FIND THE ROOM AROUND THE 3.9L. ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS? I'M PRIMARILY CURIOUS AS TO WHAT KIND OF PERFORMANCE USING MOSTLY FLEX PIPE WILL DELIVER. PEACE. :banana2: :banana2:

Let me start by saying I'm far from an expert when it comes to turbo's. But honestly, I would strongly advise against running any boost through flex tubing. I would think you'd lose most if not all of your boost through leaks eventually. Check out this thread http://www.dakota-durango.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6023&highlight=Remote+Turbo
Phil has a killer sts remote set up on his 3.9 and could prolly give you some real good advice :biggthump

Dont use flex pipe first off. The headers you have coming should have a Y pipe option at the very least.
The hardest part is the oiling system.

Thanx bro. I have been talking with my little brother, who has been a lead mechanic at Carmax for 3 years, and he said the same thing. I have a welder and it looks like I'll be getting some practice on it. I think I'm going to run the turbo into the bed along with more bass and the nitrous. That will be the safest at least. Easy to remove and smog, easy to ugrade/downgrade, easy to do the right way and look sick as hell. :jester: :banana2: :mullet:
