So i goes to tha paint shop today and here are the prices he gave me if i get them done all at once:
New Hood: $325(paint)
Tailgate: $250 (paint) $50 (weld in plate)
Fender (where antenna used to be): $25 (install) $150 (paint)
Bed sides: $150 ea (blend paint)
Rollpan:$100 (install) $75 (paint)
are these normal or a little high, so far i have only been to two different shops in the area. the other one wanted $1200 just to repaint the two bed sides :cussing:.

Can you break that down alittle more, what is being done to the hood? 50.00 to weld in a plate on the tailgate? Whats the deal with the fender? They shouldn't need to blend the bedsides for a roll pan. If the tailgate is having the handle removed, they should need to blend for that either, they shouldn't end up with color all the way to the outside edges of the gate for that. Are you saying they're gonna remove the handle for 50 bucks (less paint) cause that don't sound right at all.

$100 to install the rollpan? you could do it ur self in like 30 mins for free. just line it up and bolt it on. that may be right if ur talkin a steel rollpan being welded in and made flush.

100.00 is way to much to "bolt" a roll pan it but theres noway its enough to weld in and do the finish work. :bs2:

sorry for the confusion, hope this helps clear it up.
the fender has a hole in it from when i removed the antenna, i am getting it filled in and repainted.
the hood is just being prepped and painted. Its the srt-10 hood.
there blending the bed sides because there installing (welding) in the roll-pan for $100.
there filling in the whole from where the handle used to be on the tailgate for the $50, i already installed the kit i just need the hole filled and smoothed.
they need to paint the whole tailgate cause its the wrong color and has damage.

for the prices they`re charging you they better wash/wax the truck ,fill the gas tank and top the fluids off, lol.
i paint my own crap. but before i started painting i had a quote of 100 for the roll pan, 200 for the hood.
250 for the tailgate is just rediculous unless they have hella body work to do.
25 for the antenna hole isn`t bad, but the price for the paint is ridiculous.

Hey suffolk_mopar, If u can remember when u got quoted $200 for the hood, was it steel or fiberglass, and was the underside included. As far as the tailgate goes, it has some scratches that go down to the metal (where it started to rust) and the whole thing needs to be striped down and and repainted.
if u can give me a better price, let me know.

Well, I know what people think about body and paint work but you get what you pay for and alot of people don't want to pay for it. Heres what I think about this quote now that you have gave me more info, the paint prices are very close but the body work is way to cheap and more than likely you're gonna get cheap work, theres noway to delete that hole for the antenna for 25.00, theres noway to remove that tailgate handle hole for 50.00 and noway to install a weld in roll pan for 100.00, your gonna get screwed on this. It may not show up they day you pick it up (it may tho) but it will show up later down the road, best of luck but if your after a price then you should go with these guys.

so around how much (average) do u think the body work should be for a good quality job

Fairer prices would look something like this...
New Hood: $250 prep and paint)
Tailgate: $75 (paint) $50 (weld in plate)
Fender (where antenna used to be): $25 (install) $150 (paint)
Bed sides: $100 ea (blend paint)
Rollpan:$25 (install) $25 (paint)
But this just based on what I've had done a shop around the corner. Of course I dont live in your area, and I dont know exactly how much prep work really needs to be done on all parts you are getting shot.

yep he is painting both sides. and in case i didn't already say this, he is molding it. I just thought of something, since i am molding the pan do i lose the spare tire, or do i just have to mod the pan for access

Painting a grille, and welding in and smoothing a roll pan require two totally different skills! I hope he's good at both!
