Nice looking truck. I'm surprised there's not more people from Minnesota on this board, since there's a ton of Dakota's and Durango's around here.

I think the reason you don't see more people on the forums is that 99.9% of people don't care about what they drive. Most folks I meet just can't understand why I spend so much money, time, and effort on my truck and car. To them it's just a vehical that they are driving at the moment, they could really care less what it is let alone how it looks. Just my $.02.

I'm in the SW metro area. Just west of Eden Prairie in Waconia. I do agree about most people don't care about there cars cause they see them a just transportation, but there must have been something they liked about the vehicle to even buy it. I think the real reason is that most people don't even know a damn thing about how the car works so they leave it upto the shop to maintain. If they would just know anything about them then they might try mods to make it better. like my mods are going to cost me about $1500 but I will get atleast 2 more mpg and gain about 100 hp and torque.
I have always been a sports car guy. I was going to get the Noen SRT-4, but since there are 6 people in our family. I deceided to find a suv and the Durango R/T was it. I needed the sporty looks and easy mods to get it faster. I just love kickin' ass with those hot shot, loud exhaust, ricers running around out there. You get a bad ass car for a reason, to have fun!! I still hope to get a SRT-4 in a year. Cause the wife took the Durango right away. She absolutly loves it.

I'm northwest of Maple Grove. I hear what you say, most people don't even realize all the stuff I've done to my truck until I point out everything on it.

Im in Minnesota also. I'm in Eagan (St.Paul suberb). Not many people from the cities because the people who go on these boards are the people who love there truck but unfortunately everyone in the cities loves there civics and acuras, not trucks. So id assume most of you guys are from the more rural areas.

I guess I'm the only one in living IN Minneapolis at this point.
I'm in South Mpls close to Richfield.
I'm originally from Duluth.
Just got my Durango R/T in January.
I've seen some bad ass Dakota's around the Cities but I don't think they go online much or just don't know about this site. I saw a wicked yellow Dakota R/T drive by my work in Plymouth. It looked like the the one from the guy from Mason City, IA. Lowered, body kit and sounded nice too.
Such a site! It made my day!
Working on mods when taxes come in. As of now I have a K&N in and will put the Airraid TB spacer in soon. Next up is hopefully wheels.

Well, I am pretty sure it was not me. LOL. Truck has been down all winter. Hopefully once we start to get some decent weather, I will get some free time to get it up and running again. Might be up near there a few times this summer. Maybe get a little group together for some lunch or something.
Btw, the throttle body spacer will not help for anything in the performance area. So hopefully you haven't purchased one yet.

I have a list of about 10 or so Minnesota Dakota owners. I'm trying to put together a meet at the Mall of America some time in the next three to six weeks. If anyone is interested, PM or email me a lcjohnson@att.net

Are Minnesotans just bashfull or what? 248 people have viewed this thread and all I get is a reply from someone in Manitoba. Be proud of your Dakota; show it off.
I've set a date for a get together at the MOA on May 14. I'll be emailing details to everyone that responds lcjohnson@att.net So far it looks like a couple of locals and maybe one adventuresome guy from Manitoba.
There will be another opportunity to meet at Mopars in the Park 2005 (http://www.midwestmopars.com/moparschedule.html)

I'm getting a lot of new stuff this next week and by August it should be a little more.

May 14th huh?
I should be clear that day as it is a Saturday. Woo hoo.
Oh yeah I was going to tell you that you should put that Mopars At The Park information in the Events section of the board. Maybe more people will see it there. Just an idea. :)

I got you e-mail about the meeting on the 14th, unfortunatly I will be gone from the 12th to the 15th. I will probably go to the Mopars in the Park to check out the cars, but I won't be showing my R/T.

I won't be showing a Mopar, but I'll sure be driving one. See ya there Zach. I'm sure there will be other suggestions for a later meet.

Ok, got several favorable responses, but by far most of you haven't responded one way or the other. The first meet will be on May 14th 1pm at Hooters in the Mall of America. I figure that we will have lunch and a drink or two if you wish, then we will all meet out in the lot to see what everyone is driving or what projects you are working on. I try to find the best location for everyone to park. The exact time and resturant of choice will remain open in case some people want to bring the wife and or kids and would prefer meeting some place other than Hooters.
If no one shows up, I'm going to drown my sorrows in brandy. She's the one with the 40D's. LOL

Well now, I've lived in da Cities for over 25 years, and for the last six have proudly driven my '96 Dakota SLT 4x4 3.9 extended cab through snow, sleet, rain, and heat--sometimes towing a 17' wooden runabout inboard. It has braved the dreaded Minneapolis back streets in 4-wheel-drive through the snow and ice, and the sandy mesas of the Arizona desert off-road, and never let me down. And it's got a 6-foot bed with topper so I always have a place to sleep...
I'd be happy to meet some other MN and neighboring state owners.
BTW, I have modified practically nothing, but have been using this excellent site to gather info on some ignition upgrades. They should be in by the 14th.

If you are not on the mailing list, here is the latest.
Looks like there might be a decent turnout. First there is Me, Myself and I, then there is Luke, Drew (Quickracing), Guy (Dodgerjack), Gelly, JustMe84 and I'm still working on Larry Schwartz. If Luke shows up, he has graciously offered to let me try his SuperChips. If Larry S. shows up he will be sporting one of my modified V6 TB's. I'm anxious to hear what he has to say. Hopefully I can get some of my projects finished before the event.
I still haven't had a chance locate the best parking. I know they keep changing things around as they are constantly under construction. No one has object to the time and place which is Hooters in the MOA at 1pm May 14.

Hey man,
Looking forward to hangin' and sharing information with everyone.
Did you decide on the best spot to park?
I would say the East Ramp, up on the fourth level? It's real close to Hooters.
Otherwise if we don't want to park in a ramp, we could meet in the big parking lot straight across from the North front entrance (in between Sears and Nordstroms)?
It's out in the open and a little further away but if it's sunny it might be a good choice.
I wouldn't recommend the East lot across the street from the Mall because it has buses going in and out all the time.
Let us know!
Oh yeah. How are we going to know where you are sitting?
Are you going to have a sign? Maybe something like, "Double D's Here"?
Should be a good time!

Check your email for my phone number. I was thinking the north lot too. The ramp wouldn't be a good place for burnouts. :jester:
Of course if the weather is anything like today an isolated part of the ramp (if there is such a thing) might be in order. I plan on being there by noon to check it out.

I say we go for the North parking lot. It's supposed to be mostly sunny on Saturday.

Wow! I haven't been on this forum in a long time, I've been to busy with my turbo dodge's. That's cool that you guys are meeting up this saturday I still haven't put insurance and tabs on my dakota yet. The weather has been so crappy that I figure I'm not putting insurance on the dakota till June 1st.
I have plans this weekend anyways, someone should bring their digital camera and take some pics of some cool trucks! :biggthump
Is anyone going to Mopar's in the park? Hopefully the weather will be better than this weekend. I'd like to meet up with you guys sometime, it's always interesting to see what others have done to there trucks.

For everyone else that couldn't make it hopefully we'll see you on June 4-5 at the Park!
