Can someone tell me if the handles are removeable to be painted? If so can someone give a little insight to what is needed to do so? Do they go back in with no problems or do I need to seal them to the door to weatherproof?

Thanks everybody,

iv never done it on my dak before but im sure its the same as any other vehicle...take off the door panel and then look inside there and you'll see the bolts holdin em in place. and nope, no seal or anything...just re-install em and your good to go :biggthump

I removed mine and preped tham for paint. You just need to pop off the door panels and then remove the bolts holding the door handles in place. You'll also need to leave the lock cylinder in place.

Here is a good write up on painting your handles.http://www.dodgedakotas.com/articles/doorhandles/index.htm
There is no sealing required behind the handles, more water gets in the door between the window and its seal than will ever enter at the handle.

What do you mean? Not sure I follow that...

I popped the lock cylinder out and just removed the handle.

Oh, ok. I took my handles out and then popped out the lock cylinders. Thought you meant something different.

Why do you need to leave the lock cylinder in place? Mine popped right out by romoving a little clip. It also went right back in.
