i need a lift. i was wondering about different lifts available for my durango. i know there is a 3.5 or 4 in lift by Rancho but i have seen some D's on here that have larger lifts than that. give me some feed back por favor. Im doing a complete body rebuild and paint, as well as a suspension lift so i need to know my opions. Your feed back is greatly appreciated.

Ok I assume you have a 4wd correct?

Unless you plan on a SAS and wish to pay the money for a custom suspension lift I would recomend the Rancho 3" Suspension Lift and the Superlift 3" Body Lift. That will give you 6" and allow you to run some big meats under the truck!

I know its probably not the hieght your looking for but its the most economical and safest route to go!

If you want to go with an outrageous suspension lift I would go to a shop that specializes in them and have your wallet ready!

prolly not much help but there is a shop here that does solid front axle conversions. They had a 2000 Dakota that was lifted around 6-8 inches with that conversion. It looked stock(the front solid axle) They just lopped off the IFS components drilled the frame welded in some sleeves for the shackle bolts and set in the leafsprings/axle.

If you want to be able to use your truck for more than going to the mall, then I'm going to agree with Vegas. Most (not all, but most) of the the larger lifts for Daks and Durangs are not built for off-roading or any heavy use.

Rancho has the best suspension lift right now. And here are a couple of things to look at also. I have the Tuff Country lift but I had to modify it to make it functional. Since I believe that if you have it you should use it and I do.

A Performance Accesory body lift will run you about $200 and with a small t-bar crank($0.00) and AAL's(mine were $40 from fabtech)in the rear or blocks and you can run up to 35's on stock rims. or atleat 33's on a 3" backspaced rim. thats the cheep and effective way but if you got the money go with the rancho

As a reply to those who have asked about finding a lift greater than 3" for 2000+ durango/dakota's I found this company that makes 6.5" and 9.5" lift kits. Here is the webiste http://www.truckn-store.com/default.asp?redir=1.

I am looking for about a 6" lift for my Durango, but as you all know they do not come easily. This lift is by trukinsuspension. Has any one heard of them and their quality??

Also, I am new to the 4x4 world and not sure what else I will need ontop of the lift kit. I know I'll need shocks, but what else will I need to properly get this lift kit installed.

Thanks,
Kyle

I have also been looking at Kits for my D, and, I amby no means an expert, but Rancho's web site did have a warning not to do a body lift on a suspension lift. FYI
