Gen Ii Gen Iii

ok i was talking to a friend of mine, and a guy he knows owned a GEN II and now owns a GEN III and claims his II was faster then the III is this true?
they were both the V8s

Gen IIs are lighter than Gen IIIs....if they both have 318s, and are both the same cabe style...then yes, the Gen II is probably faster....
