9.25" 3.92 trak-lok; lsd or open?

2000 durango 4.7...i've read a lot on here, and it seems the rear end selection for each individual dakota or durango was completely random...just wondering if the trak lok mine has is an lsd or open...i'm thinkin lsd, but that might be a flashback to my college days...

Some people can just tell by driving the truck... others have to jack it up, turn one tire, see if the other one turns,... or do burnouts,... I on the other hand, usually look at the tag on the axle, or the sticker in your glovebox. Both should tell you whether or not you have LSD.

If you don't have either of those,... maybe they were ripped off,... go to the dealer with your vin,.. they should be able to tell you for sure.

Yeah it does seem the the rear end's were randomly picked. My truck has 3.92's and an open diff :bs2:

Easiest way to tell if you have a limited slip rear differential is to jack up the rear end and put the tranny in neutral.

Then turn one rear wheel by hand. If the other one turns in the same direction, it's an LSD, if the wheels turn opposite, it's open.
