I like the look of them! Not the STT just ST. They say they are an all terrain tire but a good mix of all terrain and mud terrain. I am looking at the 265/75/16 size.
Any opinions, comments?

My experience w/Cooper tires sucked. Bought (4) for my 95 Z28 & (2) of them had a defect in the sidewalls that caused them to grow bubbles (later on down the road).
I'm just commenting on the brand and my experience with Cooper

When it comes to truck tires I've never heard anything bad about Cooper. I've got a set of ATR's and really like them. I have no experience with them otherwise but, Cooper is what my dad always put on our old dak. No complaints and always offered adequate performance.

dude for a little tire info. they are reallynot any defect in the tire itself for the bubbles on the side the correct terminology it is an impact break which means some force on the tire caused it to break a belt on the sidewall of the tire making it bubble, so it is not really the tires fault. it could happen from hittin pot holes, going over or hittin curbs etc... but for the coopers they do make a decent tire i would suggest the NEW GOODYEAR WRANGLER SILENT ARMORS awesome tire that is what i have on my durango

My Dad had a set of Cooper Discoverers on his truck and he liked them. I'm thinking about getting a set of the STT's when it comes time to get tires. :biggthump

We'll see how they do...they are really aggressive looking.
Sidewall similar to the BFGoodies AT, but tread has bigger blocks. I can't wait to see how the bigger tires look!

It all depends on what you need them for. The radials are built to be more quiet on the road and the bias ply version is for off road use. That is why the tread pattern is different. They are louder than stock and don't handle like street tires. The reason they have a long tread life is because they have a harder rubber compound. Also the taller the sidewall the more flex the sidewall will give when cornering or weight shift, which makes rollover easier. I run General Grabber AT2 tires, 285/75r16 (33"), and the tire pressures must be lowered due to load rating of tire is higher and requirres less air than stock. I ran the recommended 35psi and found that about an inch on each side of the tread never touched the ground. After 500 miles they still had the factory knobbies along the edge. They also interrupted the ground contact over small bumps like seams on overpasses. I almost lost control once on an interchange the rear wheel hop was so bad. When I lowered them to 25psi, I got too much rolling resistance on the roadway. The happy medium was 27psi and no hop or bounce.

You're running Generals..they don't make round tires!!! They make their tires then shave them round. Ask any tire dealer.
General=Garbage
Also, what load rating on your tire are you talking about...Daks can take a SL or a C...D and E will kill your stock suspension. If you have a D maybe that's where your problem lies

I just had a set of Cooper Zeon XST 285/55/18 mounted about 2K ago. I have absolutely no complaints! Unlike the ST, the XST are a true directional tire with a H speed rating. They are an extremely aggressive looking tire, but rode better than the Eagle GTII that I took off. I had my Durango up to 110, and there was hardly any tire noise (which actually surprised the hell out of me). Dry traction is great, cornering good, holds great in the rain (doesn't hydroplane easily) and chewed through the little bit of snow we had like it was nothing. All that 's left is how long they will last. So far they seem to be wearing well. I would recommend them along with the ST.

I wouldn't spend a dime on Goodyear Wrangler anything....they suck for traction, wear, and performance.

my father in law lives by cooper, he has the new ATR on his truck now and had the cooper AT before that. Before I met my wife he had put cooper tires on her truck they are also AT. Never had a problem with them ever. I may look into the cooper's when it comes time to get new rubber.

My dad has always used 285/75-16 Discoverer AT's on his 95 Ram. Third or fourth set for him.
I ran 235/75-15 AT's on my 93 Jimmy.
I now run 265/75-16 ATR's on my 02 Dak.
Couldn't be happier with them. I almost bought Bridgestone Dueler Revo's for my Dak but the price was OUTRAGEOUS. Glad I got the new ATR's instead.
Great tire; lots of grip, very quiet (even at 117!) and a reasonable price as well.
My father's fire department has the ST's on their 97' Chevy brush truck. Loud tires going down the road, seem to wear a little odd since they are bias-ply. A friend of me has a Dak almost identical to mine (2001 instead of 02) with STT's. They look great and really rip some ruts in the mud, if I didn't have so much highway travel to work, I'd buy these tires next time.
As for Good(for-a)Year Wranglers...only good for one thing: Tire smoke! :mullet:
